Move-Out Checklist

We are always sad to see good tenants move on, but we do hope you’ve enjoyed your stay with us. Your lease agreement requires that you leave your residence in clean and undamaged condition. We have every intention of returning your entire security deposit as long as you have fulfilled your agreement with us. We have compiled this checklist below to help with your move.

Notice to Vacate

  • Check your lease to determine your lease end date. You are required to provide written notice of your intent to vacate at least 30 days before your lease expires. You can submit your notice through your tenant portal or send an email to info@mvp614.com
  • You are responsible for paying rent through the lease end date, regardless of whether you leave the premises early
  • If you have autopay set-up, please remember to remove it once your last month's rent is paid

Preparing for your move

  • Cooperate with the showing of the residence for sale or rental, keeping it in presentable condition
  • Begin to discard all unwanted items for trash or special pick-up—avoid piles of debris in front of your residence on moving day
  • Report any and all damage to Management in writing

Cleaning

  • Remove all personal belongings, food and debris
  • Clean refrigerator, stove, oven, and any other appliances
  • All floors and/or carpeting must be broom swept clean, mopped, and vacuumed
  • All kitchen(s) and bathroom(s) must be completely clean.
  • All walls must be clean and painted the same color as before tenancy began
  • Clean all windows
  • Be sure grounds and lawn are trim, clean and free of weeds and leaves

Property Condition

  • Leave all kitchen appliances, window treatments, etc
  • Replace any burned out light bulbs
  • Check to make sure smoke alarm(s) and carbon monoxide alarm(s) are working properly
  • All keys and garage door openers (if applicable) shall be returned to Management
  • Leave ALL utilities on until your move-out inspection has completed
  • Do not leave any trash behind. Do NOT leave garbage at the curb up. Plan ahead and schedule collection of bulk items prior to your move out date, contact the City's 311 Service Center (614) 645-3111 or 311.columbus.gov
  • Upon leaving, please be sure to fully secure the rental by locking all windows and doors

Please remember to deliver your home in the same condition it was in prior to your tenancy. This will ensure you receive the most money possible. Good luck with your move.
